For those of you that don’t hang around the Purdue CGT Department much, I’ve recently been granted a lab attendant position for one of the big, fancy computer labs. And in the short amount of time I’ve been working, I’ve already learned many valuable lessons. Like never trust Rick DeSutter. Ever. For any reason. Period.
Well, with all the time EMV has taken up recently, I didn’t have a chance to draw the comic I wanted to this week. But here’s a simple one that popped into my mind this morning.
It’s an exciting day for Base14, because today’s post features our very first video release using the new blog format! This little number was just produced in the last two weeks for the Purdue Emily Mauzy Vogel Sophomore Leadership Conference. I’m one of the small group facilitators; but in addition to that, I like to snazz up the opening festivities with an exciting video introduction.
This year’s theme was going to be “Superheroes,” so I took it to the next level and based it on the “Heroes” television show. It’s not always we get to have so much fun making a video! Enjoy!
So you’ve all seen the new lineup of iPods, yes? Stunning. It was enough to make me go out and buy an iriver Clix2. Hey, that reminds me, this week’s comic is hot off the presses and posted directly below! It looks a lot better than last week because I took my time and did it all in Photoshop this time.
We here at Base14 like to dabble in a lot of things, including fashion design. In fact, one of our ideas is to eventually offer a few T-shirts for sale on the site. I mean, it just wouldn’t be a cool website without some cheesy T-shirts for sale.
Well I wanted to show my support for Free Hug Day, and after seeing the lackluster Free Hug shirts available online, Alysha and I saw an opportunity to produce our first prototype shirt. Introducing “Free Hugs.” Specs: 278 pt. Helvetica Rounded Black. 100% cotton. Made in Lesotho… and the USA.
Let us know what you think! Maybe someday it’ll be a real fashion line. And show support for the Free Hugs Campaign. Give someone a free hug today!
Happy Labor Day, everyone! Hope you’ve been living it up with lots of relaxing, non-labor-like activities. Because as soon as tomorrow gets here, it’s back to boring ol’ work. Or as I like to call it, ed-you-kayshun. Anyhow, here’s this week’s comic. It’s about summer, and how much I hate it. Enjoy!
Just a short note that we’ve updated the About section so it… actually has something in there. The comics section is under development too but is being weird at the moment. And the Base14 Gallery remains empty. I’ll at least get BWAE in there soon. And did somebody say new comic? Well no, but the second Base14 Comic will be out on Monday. I’m so excited!
