It’s only Tuesday, but this this week has already been a blast because I’ve been working as the set photographer for “The PreShow,” a short film finalist for the Coca-Cola Refreshing Filmmaker’s Award. SCAD actually has two finalists this year, and that’s out of ten nationwide! Pretty impressive. Just like the students running this production; things are top notch. And I have plenty to do photographing all the action and pitching in as a grip when needed. Here’s an initial photo to whet your fancy, but once the shoot is done I’ll share my best-of. And if Coke likes ours enough, you’ll see it on the big screen.
Holy cow you’re going so fast AWW FRICK!!
That looks pretty sweet. You’re progressing so much since you’ve graduated. I’m not your mom, but if I was I’d go on and on about how proud I am and all that sappy crap. Anyways, I’m a little jealous, since that sounds pretty freaking sweet.
By the way, how’d you expose that shot? What lens? What settings? Still on the D50? Was it with a tripod? Because every theater shot I take always comes out crappy.
Haha, this brings back memories of when I photo-shot your ARA presentation. I don’t think mine came out this sexy. But at least it carried the memories.
Keep me updated on this Coke project thing!
Thanks, Bandrik. Although I’m not sure what to think about you imagining what it’s like to be my mother.
This shot was taken at f/3.5, 1/10 second exposure and 400 ISO, with a standard 18-55 lens. And not surprisingly, I shot it on a tripod. I used the wider angle lens for some large shots, but the theater was dark enough that for a majority of closer shots, I stuck with my 50mm going down to f/1.8. Because of the sensitive lighting environmental, I’ve been almost exclusively shooting in manual mode.
It’s good to hear that D50 is still being put to good use! Hopefully you found the stills photographer position to be as rewarding as I have!
[…] first the bad news, guys. I promised you all brilliant pictures from our film shoot this week, but I’ve been told we’ve gotta keep them under wraps until the contest has […]
Wow! WordPress does automatic pingbacks… that’s awesome.
