That’s right, here at Base14 we deal in more than just comics, graphics and movies. We are also in the apparel business. Let me introduce myself, I am Alysha Kupferer, Tyler’s partner in crime. As a freshman in Apparel Design I bring a different element to the Base14 team. Recently, I participated in the Circle City Showcase, a cocktail/evening wear design competition between four different Midwest schools. Even though all of the Purdue entries were exceptional I would just like to share some shots of my garment. (Keep in mind this was designed and made without a pattern.) The point I am trying to get across is that you all need to start getting super psyched for the development of Base14 Outfitters. Once I formally learn how to make patterns and begin to experiment in the world of sportswear I believe we are all in for a treat.
Special thanks to Devon Katheeder for being my gorgeous model. If you would like to see her in action, make sure to come to the Purdue fashion show on March 29.
We here at Base14 like to dabble in a lot of things, including fashion design. In fact, one of our ideas is to eventually offer a few T-shirts for sale on the site. I mean, it just wouldn’t be a cool website without some cheesy T-shirts for sale.
Well I wanted to show my support for Free Hug Day, and after seeing the lackluster Free Hug shirts available online, Alysha and I saw an opportunity to produce our first prototype shirt. Introducing “Free Hugs.” Specs: 278 pt. Helvetica Rounded Black. 100% cotton. Made in Lesotho… and the USA.
Let us know what you think! Maybe someday it’ll be a real fashion line. And show support for the Free Hugs Campaign. Give someone a free hug today!
