It’s about time for another animation round-up from my fundamentals of animation class. Now that the quarter is coming to an end, we’re getting into the more serious stuff, including our first character animations. We got to animate a frog side step, a walk cycle and a run cycle. I’m beginning to see how the trick is to break down the character into several smaller components, animating each part on its own. That is, at least until I can track them all simoutaneously in my head. I can tell you one thing, it’s giving me an even deeper appretiation for all the advantages of Flash, and how it keeps you from getting lost in pagination semantics.
Hey Tyler! Those examples of your work? If so that’s pretty cool! I’ll have to ask you later how you did them. Still, sweet stuff. And to end on a random TGS quote, “corn chips are no place for a mighty warrior!”
Haha, thanks Ryan. I did them as simply as you might expect: I had a stack of copy paper and drew a new image on each one, then captured them in sequence. Old school.
