Well, I promised everyone a special Holiday Edition of Rightfield, so here it is! Too bad it's coming somewhat after the holidays. I had two other projects I wanted to get finished first: 1. My latest TKup Mix, "Eleven After," and 2. A big, elaborate self-portrait rendered in graphite pencil, which I've been doing non-stop for the last four days. :( But it's okay, because all that is done and timing was gladly sacrificed for color and flashiness!!! I wanted to release a special strip that's only available here on the site, and since that meant I didn't need to constrain it to normal newspaper guidelines, I could change the dimensions and add color! The result is a strip that took a lot longer than I had originally anticipated, but it was a lot of fun attempting a "Sunday Strip" format and adding color! A worthy experiment.
This is the first appearance of Sam's sister, mother, and father. For the context of this strip their name's weren't important, since I don't really see them being used a whole lot in the future. So for now, they all remain unnamed.
The weirdest thing about Sam's last comment in this strip is that fact that when you really start thinking about it, the whole situation would be embarrassing... on a number of levels.
