So finally we have the big cliffhanger strip that we've all been waiting for. I originally was going to just end it the way yesterday did, with the screaming of "Paul!" and including the "To be continued!" caption, but then I'm sure over half the people (who read the strip occasionally) might say "Who the heck is Paul?!" So I worked in this strip as the final clincher, which restates the fact that Paul is Sam's old roommate, and has been missing for four months. That way people actually know what it is they are supposed to be anticipating, rather than being completely in the dark.

I wrote Paul's line in the last panel, "Well I'll tell you," not realizing I must have gotten it from the movie "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" when Prince Herbert begins to tell of how he survived falling from his tower window. Since it was already going in that direction, I had Phil say "He's going to tell," which is what the peasants start singing in response. It would have been a more obvious reference is there had been some music notes or something, but I'm not sure I wanted it to be more obvious.

This story will pick up right where it left off January 8th, 2007, which is the first day of Spring Semester. Until then, I'm going to take a much-needed break to relax and plan all the new adventures our Rightfield friends will embark on in the future.
