That’s right, here at Base14 we deal in more than just comics, graphics and movies. We are also in the apparel business. Let me introduce myself, I am Alysha Kupferer, Tyler’s partner in crime. As a freshman in Apparel Design I bring a different element to the Base14 team. Recently, I participated in the Circle City Showcase, a cocktail/evening wear design competition between four different Midwest schools. Even though all of the Purdue entries were exceptional I would just like to share some shots of my garment. (Keep in mind this was designed and made without a pattern.) The point I am trying to get across is that you all need to start getting super psyched for the development of Base14 Outfitters. Once I formally learn how to make patterns and begin to experiment in the world of sportswear I believe we are all in for a treat.

Special thanks to Devon Katheeder for being my gorgeous model. If you would like to see her in action, make sure to come to the Purdue fashion show on March 29.

I really need to consider moving my day for comics to something other than Monday, because these days Mondays always seem to get very busy for me. Good thing Alysha had a post for us! (Everyone wish her a warm and happy welcome, won’t you?) This comic was finished after Alysha’s post above, but had I done it on time she’d have been on top. So we’ll let her keep her limelight.

Well, in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, I considered doing a comic with some kind of deeply moving, insightful statement on racial and civil rights issues. But I think I need to read To Kill A Mockingbird a few more times before I’m that intelligent. So here’s a joke pondering why schools get the day off in the first place. Whee!

I had a dream…

Have you been following CES this week!?! Bill Gates’ final keynote, Panasonic’s 150 inch TV, and… and… well I guess that’s really it. And those two don’t count much anyway. But a giant TV seemed pretty wacky, so i thought up a comic about it. Oh! And I just got a new Wacom Intuos3 tablet. Much better than my old Graphire2. It’s looking good for the Ara Project.

Darn, I thought I had reached nirvana.
